Areas of Activity
Shaare Zedek’s office of Resource Development & Public Affairs serves as the primary point of contact between the Medical Center and the outside world. On a daily basis, the Department is involved in many informational and promotional efforts on behalf of the hospital.

With the development of the hospital as its main goal, the Department works to identify individuals and entities interested in Shaare Zedek’s expansion and to work to develop opportunities that meet the needs of the hospital and its patients. Acting as the liaison between Shaare Zedek and the hospital’s network of fundraising offices across the globe, the Resource Development & Public Affairs office is called upon to produce information regarding current and future activities and construction campaigns at the hospital. The office further manages the hospital’s fundraising efforts and acts as the vehicle for distributing collected funds to the areas of Shaare Zedek that serve to benefit.
 
The Department is similarly charged with developing all marketing and promotional materials that will help the general public gain a better understanding of the wide breadth of activities with which the hospital is involved. The maintenance and development of the hospital’s website falls into this category. A database of thousands of pictures dating back to the hospital’s earliest days is maintained in the Department. 
 
The Department of Resource Development & Public Affairs drafts news releases and advisories and can provide media outlets and the general public with information pertaining to Shaare Zedek’s history and activities. Many of the major conferences and events that take place in the hospital each year are coordinated by the Department.  Tours of the hospital are also facilitated by the staff of the Department.
