The Gastroenterology Institute comprises:
a referral clinic of 6000 patients a year
an endoscopic unit which performs 4000 examinations a year
and a G.I. Laboratory engaged in clinical and research work which provides the necessary tools for the management of G.I. patients. (C-13 breath tests and absorptive studies.)

Endoscopic procedures are performed on a daily basis.
Laser photoablation, stent insertion, dilatation of strictures, injection sclerotherapy etc. are routinely performed.

ERCP`s are done twice weekly and Motility+pH studies one day a week.

A hemorrhoid clinic takes place almost every day.

A surgeon joins the clinic once weekly.

A percutaneous feeding gastrostomy program is provided for the geriatric institutions in the city.

A liver clinic is held weekly, in collaboration with Professor Halevy - Director General of the Medical Center and a specialist in liver diseases.

A specialized clinic for the early detection of colo-rectal cancer provides screening and genetic counseling to high risk individuals. Clinical research facilities are available. Articles in various fields of interest have been published in the literature.

A fellowship program and a resident program are available. A foreign-student program is also available for short and long terms.
