Rabbi Moshe Peleg, Rabbi of the Medical Center is Director of the Religious Services Department.

The Department provides a variety of services, among them:

1) Halachic consultation to management, staff, patients and their families

2) Spiritual guidance for patients and their families

3) Visits to patients on weekdays and Shabbat

4) Kashrut supervision throughout the hospital

5) Organization of daily services, weekdays, Shabbatot and Holidays, in the hospital’s eighth-floor synagogue

6) Distribution of challah and candles for Shabbat to patients 

7) Recitation of Kiddush and Havdalah at 22 locations throughout the hospital

8) Making tefillin available to patients

9) Supervision of preparations for holidays and assistance to patients who wish to observe Holidays

Rav Asher Hirsch, Z"L, who passed away in Iyar 5767 was
among the founders of the American Committee for
Shaare Zedek and devoted himself to activity for the
hospital for over 50 years.
