A medical hypnosis clinic is being established at SZMC with an emphasis on short term treatment with a behavioural focus.
Dr Sol Jaworowski, a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist is currently accepting referrals.

The psychiatric service of Shaare Zedek Medical Center provides consultations to all in and out patient services of the hospital, including the ER.

We have experience and expertise in liaison/consultation psychiatry, psychiatric problems commonly encountered in a general hospital. 

Frequently encountered problems include:
Depression and Anxiety in Medical, Surgical and Pediatric in-patients
Confusion and Delirium in Elderly in-patients
Hopelessness and Desperation in patients with Terminal Illness (Cancer, Congestive heart failure e.g.) 
Suicidal Behavior and Complications of Drug /Alcohol Abuse in ER patients.

In our out-patient clinic, we treat patients who belong to the follow up of the oncology or hematology day hospital, of the dialysis units, of the cardiac rehabilitation, the memory clinic and pediatric neurology.

Additional areas of activity include:

Routine assessments of mental capacity in elderly patients who need medical or surgical prcedures
Teaching medical students and paramedics
Departmental clinical research as well as collaboration in interdepartmental research projects

Our unit is comprised of three board (Israel) certified adult psychiatrists:

Dr. Jaworowski is also a specialist in pediatric psychiatry.


At this point there is no psychiatric in- patient department at Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
