Areas of Activity

Shaare Zedek's Els & Charles Bendheim Department of Cardiology is headed by one of Israel's most renowned and influential cardiologists. Professor Dan Tzivoni served as president of the Israel Heart Society for 2005-6, a highly prestigious position through which he represented Israel in international symposia, such as the European Society of Cardiology and the American College of Cardiology. He is also heavily involved in the shaping of policy and education.   

A complete spectrum of cardiac evaluation and testing is available at the Bendheim Department of Cardiology. An annual average of 2,600 Heart Catherizations (50% of which are interventional angioplasties with stent implantation), and thousands of Echocardiograms, Treadmill Stress Tests, and Holter Monitor Tests are performed. In all, the Center's outpatient clinics provide cardiac diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and preventive counseling for more than 12,000 men, women and children each year.
