As Shaare Zedek continues to expand into new and increasingly innovative medical arenas, this week the Medical Center opened a new center for aesthetic and cosmetic medicine called Harmony. The center, which is based on the hospital’s Fourth Floor, is designed to respond to an increasing need from within the Jerusalem community responding to the patient’s overall wellbeing in addition to their direct healthcare needs.
Harmony is based in a completely renovated area which will house various treatment rooms able to perform a variety of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures. Included will be lazar surgeries to remove the need for eye-glasses as well as elective procedures to improve the skin and one’s overall personal appearance.
Shaare Zedek’s Director General, Professor Jonathan Halevy saluted the opening of the center saying it enables the hospital to provide another aspect of caring for the community and one that is becoming increasingly requested.
He pointed out that the services that will be offered by Harmony often demand a high level of discretion and privacy by the patient. As a service that will be used in large numbers by the haredi community, where privacy in medical care is that much more desired, this facility will be able to provide just that.
Even while the types of cosmetic and aesthetic surgeries that will be performed are viewed as relatively safe and with few complications, Professor Halevy said that the location of the facility within a major hospital adds to the sense of security that a patient has when coming in for a procedure.
“Patients who will be treated in Harmony will have instant access to top emergency facilities and advanced operating theatres should the need ever arise,” said Professor Halevy.
