Medical Students (Elective)

Want to turn your elective into an unforgettable experience?
Come to Shaare Zedek in Jerusalem!

Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel, is a vibrant, multicultural metropolis. Shaare Zedek Medical Center, centrally located opposite Mount Herzl, has accompanied the city's dramatic history for over a century. Combining excellent medicine with compassionate care, from early 20th century typhoid patients to contemporary terror victims, Shaare Zedek has accumulated invaluable experience in numerous medical fields.  Students of all religions are welcome to take part in shaping the medical world of tomorrow, inspired by 5000 years of Jewish tradition.

Shaare Zedek Medical Center is affiliated to the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School and participates in the teaching of fourth, fifth and sixth year medical students.

Electives at Shaare Zedek are a minimum of three weeks in duration throughout the year. The program is intended for medical students who have completed at least two years of a four-year program or three years of a five-year program. A wide selection of electives in departments throughout the hospital is available. Shaare Zedek offers this opportunity to medical students at no charge.
