Many resources have been invested in the new department, which is of the very highest standards, with the planners taking into consideration the mothers' comfort, a special ambience, advanced equipment and of course Shaare Zedek's own team of doctors, nurses and other professionals ready to administer the best possible care.
 
A new and advanced day nursery will also be opened, designed to give newborns the best possible start to life.
 
The new facilities were initiated due to the huge demand to give birth at Bikur Holim. New mothers are entitled to a third night free of charge or a night at a special boutique hotel. Similarly, before the birth, women are entitled to a fully reimbursed birth preparation course and a special preparation workshop free of charge.
 
Bikur Holim Hospital is over 100 years old and one of the oldest and most important institutions in Jerusalem. Six years ago, Shaare Zedek Medical Center decided to take managerial responsibility for Bikur Holim and transformed it into a medical center offering the very highest professional and medical standards and treatment.


 
Every year, more than 6,000 women choose to give birth at Bikur Holim and now they will be able to enjoy top quality conditions in the same unique atmosphere that has been preserved for over a century.
