IVF Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center Declared as National Training Center

The Israel Medical Association's Scientific Council has acknowledged Shaare Zedek's IVF Unit as a national center for peer learning, to train future generations of Israeli fertility specialists.

The implications of this recognition are that from now, gynecologists and obstetricians who want to specialize in fertility and IVF can undergo a 12-24-month course at Shaare Zedek, receiving comprehensive training and recognition as experts in the field.

To date, there has never been a peer program in fertility medicine in Israel, and doctors who were interested in this had little choice but to travel overseas.

Now, thanks to this official recognition, the IVF Unit at Shaare Zedek will become the center attracting the best doctors in the field.

The IVF Unit at Shaare Zedek is the largest in all of the public hospitals in Israel. It is a national and international leader in all aspects and one of the biggest units in Europe in terms of the number of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) cycles it administers every year. Thousands of women are treated in our unit ever year, with a very high success rate.

Prof. Ofer Marin, Director-General of Shaare Zedek, "The Scientific Council's decision is a badge of honor for Shaare Zedek. Our IVF Unit is one of the leading centers in Israel and we are proud to be able to train the next generation of experts in the field of fertility medicine."
