At a meeting held at Shaare Zedek, it was decided to set up a joint steering committee – Shaare Zedek, the health agencies and the Beit Shemesh Municipality – to plan the expansion of medical services for women, children and new mothers in Beit Shemesh.
The committee, to be headed by Prof. Merin and Dr. Bloch, will work to enhance the medical services in the city by leveraging Shaare Zedek's medical systems.
The meeting was attended by the President of Shaare Zedek, Prof. Yonatan Halevy, Mayor Bloch, VP Operations at Shaare Zedek, Doron Neuwirth, VP Finances at Shaare Zedek, Ruth Ralbag, Rabbi Yisrael Silverstein, responsible for the health portfolio in the Beit Shemesh Municipality, Yochanan Mali, Director of the Mayor's Office, and Monique Levy, Municipality Health Coordinator.
Dr. Aliza Bloch, Mayor of Beit Shemesh: "We are working around the clock to improve the city's health services and offer as many services as possible for the residents' benefit. I thank the President and the Director-General of the hospital and City Council member Yisrael Silverstein, and we will work to deepen the partnership with the hospital."
Prof. Ofer Merin, Director-General Shaare Zedek: "For years Shaare Zedek has served as a medical center for many Beit Shemesh residents and we view this relationship with great respect. I am pleased and happy for this partnership we are creating with the Mayor, Dr. Aliza Bloch, which will expand Shaare Zedek's medical services for the benefit of the people of Beit Shemesh."
