Ministry of Health Director General Professor Chezi Levy visited Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center today (Thursday) and said, “You’re serving on the frontlines of the battle against Corona and we will continue to support you and your dedicated staff.”
The working visit was hosted by Shaare Zedek’s Director General Professor Ofer Merin and allowed Professor Levy and other senior Health Ministry officials to see firsthand the hospital’s Corona response systems.
The visit focused on specific issues the hospital is confronting as the crisis poses growing challenges on the medical, nursing and financial levels. The visit included tours of the new Corona unit which is currently in the late stages of construction, as well as the Corona control headquarters and the Weinstock Department of Emergency Medicine.
Professor Merin said, “I want to thank Professor Levy and his staff for coming and for the strong daily communication between our hospital and the Ministry. For more than half a year we’ve been on the frontline of this battle and we are now gearing up for the upcoming winter. Shaare Zedek and our staff need the support of the Ministry in order to ensure the best possible care for the people of Jerusalem.”
Professor Levy said, “I thank the Shaare Zedek teams for the blessed work they’re doing and everywhere we look we can see their dedication and professionalism. Shaare Zedek is truly on the front and we as a Ministry will continue to support the hospital and to help them so that can continue to lead as they always have. I welcome the chance to wish all the staff a Shana Tova and Gmar Chatima Tova.”
The visit was accompanied by Deputy Director General of Shaare Zedek Dr. Sefi Mendelovitch, Director of Nursing and Deputy Director General Gali Weiss, Deputy Director General for Operations Doron Neuwirth and CFO Vicky Levy.
