The Unit for Anesthetizing Women and Expectant Mothers at Risk

Anesthetic treatment for pregnant women has significantly expanded in recent years. As well as administering epidurals in the delivery room or during a Cesarean section, the unit’s doctors –members of the Anesthesiology Department who have undergone special training in Obstetric Anesthesiology – are also involved in:

Consultation during pre-birth stages

Active treatment participation during birth

Participation in multi-disciplinary discussions about the recommended type of birth, in keeping with the woman’s situation

Follow-up treatment after the birth, for example after a Cesarean or in cases of pre-eclampsia when the woman is under the joint supervision of the Anesthesiology and Obstetrics departments.
