There are four maternity wards at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and two wards at Bikur Cholim. Each ward has spacious rooms, up to three beds per room. No mother stays in the hall.
Each room is equipped with comfortable nursing chairs, personal dressers, a bathroom and a shower.
The newborn can stay by their mother's side throughout the day except during the medical examinations - that are done at the nursery, and during the night, unless the mother requests rooming-in.
The infants are treated at the nurseries that are attached to the maternity wards, or at the innovative NICU if needed.

At the disposal of the new mother נathrobes, towels, regular and frozen pads (to alleviate swelling around the stitches), kitchennette with a water cooler, hot beveridges corner and a fridge for personal food items, and a detailed instruction brochure about caring for yourself and your baby (please ask the nurse for this).
Do not get off your bed by yourself for the first time after delivery. Please call the nurse (using a designated call botton at your bed) to help you off your bed for the first time. Call bottons are also installed in every bathroom. If you don't feel well, experiencing intensive bleeding or other pains, don't hesitate to call the nurse immediately.
