Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Over 4000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer annually in Israel. The Breast Oncology Unit, established in 2018, provides personalized multi-disciplinary collaborative care delivered by a dedicated team of breast cancer specialists focused on providing the best available standard of care.

Every stage in the management of the disease requires special and coordinated attention – from screening and diagnosis through treatment and then survivorship. Our comprehensive program includes outstanding patient care that is timely and professional and spans clinical, psychosocial and lifestyle needs. We on the medical oncology team work alongside the breast surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, social workers, and clinical research staff to provide evidenced based patient centered care. The Unit also has a research program that includes clinical and translational research that helps improve our ability to diagnose, treat and heal women with breast cancer.

Coordinating with the genetics department to identify and address hereditary factors and the gynecology department to address the full range of reproductive issues that may arise from fertility preservation, through to supporting pregnancy after breast cancer, managing breast cancer diagnosed during pregnancy and management of menopausal symptoms secondary to treatment, is also an important part of the care we offer. We are also proud to provide The Talya Center for Young Women with Breast Cancer, our program dedicated to young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
