A scar is an area of skin that has lost its flexibility and become indented. Facial scars, apart from the esthetic ramifications, can also affect self-image and sometimes even disrupt a person’s functioning. Until now, the common treatments took a long time and often produced only partial results.

A new treatment, developed in our department, promises the restoral of the patient’s skin to what it was before the scar appeared. It involves implanting fatty stem cells into the scarred area. They can then develop into different types of cells as needed – skin cells, fatty cells or connective tissue cells. After the implant, the patient undergoes five laser treatments using a special machine that does not affect the upper layer of skin at all.
The treatment significantly improves the skin’s appearance, often with no sign of the scar whatsoever. It is also effective for long-standing scars.
