The Wilf Children's Hospital provides care and treatment for every medical problem concerning pediatric health. The top specialists in pediatric medicine work here, many of whom have sub-specialties. They are joined by the pediatric surgeons and experts in various surgical fields such as orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology and otolaringology. Alongside these we have a large and skilled nursing staff, with a unique approach to our young patients.
We treat both children and adults who suffer from allergies or immuno-dificiency and other problems with their immune system, usually due to recurring infections. As part of the diagnostic process, we perform non-invasive skin tests.
The unit performs ofver 600 endoscopic procedures in children each year, including colonoscopies, gastroscopies, insertion of feeding tubes and rectal biopsies. Patients range from preemies under 2 kg until 18 year-old young adults.
The institute is one of the two largest of its kind in Israel and includes several excellence centers for treating children with IBD, liver and pancreas diseases, celiac, eating disorders and failure to thrive in infants, and food allergies.
The Educational Institute provides educational services, enrichment activities and emotional support for all hospitalized children between the ages of 3-21.
The Neonatal Departments are devided into 5 nurseries for healthy newborns and two NICUs for preemies and newborns with congenital defects. The Shaare Zedek Campus NICU is comprised of 70 beds and is the largest in Israel.
The Huberfeld Neonatal Intensive Care Complex is the largest in Israel, with 70 beds that can be isolated (and 20 additional beds at Bikur Cholim Campus), advanced equipment, a skilled staff and a special MRI device for preemies.
The multi-disciplinary center is a second home to children and teens from all over Israel dealing with IBD. In addition to the personal approach and high medical standards, we offer parents and children workshops to help cope with the illness.
The department treats acute condition in children from birth till the age of 18.
The unit treats patients with a variety of illnesses, ranging from chronic diseases, problems that pass with the proper treatment and children after liver transplant
The Pediatric Neurology Unit specializes in neurological disorders that occur in children, such as developmental problems, learning disabilities, ADD and ADHD, and congenital or hereditary syndromes.
The unit provides multi-disciplinary care for infants and children with organic or secondary eating disorders. In addition to experts and pediatric gastroenterology, the staff includes a nutritionist, psychologist, social worker and occupational therapist.
The unit treats the spectrum of pediatric orthopedic problems, such as limb injuries, neural limb problems, and skeletal and muscular development issues (including scoliosis).
The unit specializes in treating problems of the upper airways such as sleep apnea, narrowing of the larynx and cleft pallets. Routine surgeries such as tonsillectomy, myringotomy and cochlear implants are also performed.
The institute treats children with various pulmonary diseases including asthma, pneumonia, CF and congenital defects. The institute also operates a multi-disciplinary Pediatric Sleep Breathing Clinic.
We perform many diverse surgeries, including following trauma, surgeries to fix congenital defects, tumor resections and head and neck surgeries.
Children of both sexes, from birth through adolescence, are treated at the department for disorders with the urinary tract and genitalia.
