Nursing Administration

Nursing at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center has been known for its professionalism and ethical excellence ever since the days of Schwester Selma, the first Head Nurse at the hospital.

Following her lead, the current Nursing Administration believes in creating an organizational culture that encourages quality, high service-awareness, study, growth and professional clinical development.

And that’s why the 1,500 nurses at Shaare Zedek combine their nursing care with being full partners in the hospital’s programs and innovations so they can continue to improve the health and welfare of patients and patients’ families. And since they are the ones ‘in the trenches’ 24/7, the nurses themselves initiate many new projects in response to patients’ needs. For example, our nurses have developed programs to help patients before surgery, training courses for mothers and babies leaving for home, new breastfeeding tips and techniques, writing nursing-related letters to retirement homes or the patient's community, making hospital computerization more efficient and many other contributions.
