Introducing Shaare Zedek
Shaare Zedek is the largest multi-disciplinary medical center in Jerusalem, offering advanced services in a wide array of specialties. With a constant commitment to improve and provide our patients with the best possible care, the 1000-bed facility treats over a million patients per year in its 30 departments and 70 out-patient clinics.
SZMC Statistics
Shaare Zedek treats around a million patients annually in its 30 inpatient departments and 70 outpatient clinics and units. The Department of Emergency Medicine sees 170,000+ patients each year, and 40,000 procedures are performed in the surgical complex. Shaare Zedek is home to the most active Maternity Department in Israel (and among the busiest in the Western world) with over 22,000 births per year.

In addition, the hospital will continue training excellent medical professionals and engaging in innovative medical research, serving as a model of academic and scientific excellence along with observance of Jewish traditions and values.
Administration
Shaare Zedek Medical Center is a registered non-profit association and is managed by an international Board of Directors. The Board decides issues of hospital policy, approves the budget and development plans, appoints the Director General and guides the Administrative Forum.
The Board of Directors appoints the Executive Committee, which meets four times a year and oversees the execution of all decisions. The Executive Committee appoints the Standing Committee, which accompanies the CEO in day-to-day operations, and the Administrative Forum.
Prof. Ofer Merin, Shaare Zedek's Director General, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the hospital and the execution of all decisions made by the Board of Directors. The Administrative Forum includes five deputy CEOs (finance, administration and human resources, nursing, and two medicine deputies) and the directors of the administrative divisions.
