The Academic Pathway to a BSN Degree in Nursing

About

The accredited nursing program and the first-degree program in nursing take place in collaboration with the Lev Academic Center.

The study pathway includes four years of tailored learning according to the academic curriculum of the Nursing Department at Tel Institute/Lev Academic Center and the requirements set by the Ministry of Health for certified nursing studies. Studies are conducted four days a week, mostly at the Sheba Medical Center School of Nursing and partially at the Nursing Department at Tel Institute. The academic study hours consist of lectures, workshops, study days, and seminars. Practical study hours involve hands-on experience in hospital departments at Sheba Medical Center, community clinics, and other healthcare settings. The program is complemented by practice lessons, simulations, and clinical discussions.

The study program reflects the core values, principles, and central concepts of the nursing profession and its developmental directions.

The Academic Pathway to a BSN Degree in Nursing

The study program focuses on the following knowledge domains:

 

1. Foundational Sciences Division - This division includes a broad background in biological, social, and behavioral sciences.

2. Nursing Sciences Division - This division encompasses a structured and progressive program that imparts knowledge and tools for developing the psychomotor, communication, and cognitive skills required in nursing practice. Through these skills, nurses construct preventive and health promotion programs and manage nursing care in various patient conditions, utilizing professional responsibility, decision-making processes, and critical thinking to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.

3. Clinical Studies Division - This division involves both theoretical learning and practical experience aimed at the medical aspects and nursing interventions associated with human care throughout the lifespan, within the continuum of health and illness.

4. Advanced Clinical Practicum - This study division concludes the study program. In this division, students practice comprehensive and advanced nursing care at the level of a beginning certified nurse.
