Graduated from medical studies with honors at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
Between the years 1973-1977, Prof. Halevi served as a military doctor with the rank of major.
Prof. Halevi is a gastroenterologist by training, a specialist in liver diseases. His extensive training also includes a period at Yale University School of Medicine.
Prof. Halevi is committed to excellence in medicine and nursing and constantly emphasizes the importance of treating the person and not just the disease.
Between 2000-2006, Prof. Halevi served as chairman of the National Center for Organ Transplantation.
