Multi-Disciplinary Clinic for Juvenile Diabetes

This clinic operates within the framework of the Pediatric Endocrinology Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The aim of the clinic is to provide one-stop comprehensive, professional and multi-disciplinary treatment. The medical staff are involved in the diabetic child's treatment – and in guiding the family – from the early diagnosis stage through to hospital discharge and the child's re-integration into his or her educational framework.

In emergency cases, patients have access to a 24/7 phone hotline.

The clinic works closely with The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Israel and with voluntary organizations such as "Simcha LaYeled," with the aim of improving treatment and the quality of life for diabetic children.

The clinic prides itself on providing the highest quality treatment along with emotional care for the child and his or her family, and to help them successfully integrate the diabetes into their everyday lives. We also run support workshops for parents and children throughout the year, counting carbohydrates workshops, annual conventions and fun days for the children and their families.

Our staff also volunteer in JDRF activities and those of other diabetes-related NGOs.
