The retrograde cystography, which replaces the VCUG (voiding cystourethrogram), is performed under ultrasound guidance, without the use of radiation, and can be done with the option of providing sedation. This procedure allows the detection of reflux, which is the backward flow of urine from the bladder to the kidneys. The examination takes place in the ultrasound room, conducted by an experienced team, with the presence of the parents.
