Day Hospitalization

A wide range of treatments are available within the Hematology Day Hospital  for both malignant and non-malignant diseases. These include chemotherapy, biological therapies, blood and fluid transfusions, antibiotics, immunoglobulins, intravenous iron, and more. Additionally, bone marrow tests and various procedures such as aspirations, intrathecal chemotherapy injections, and blood transfusions are performed as needed based on diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines.

Reception and Procedure:

  • Registration at the Secretary's Office: Upon your arrival for day hospitalization, you need to take a number from the appointment screen next to the secretary's desk at the entrance. This number is used for registration with the secretary. The secretary will give you an identification sticker/another number that will be used throughout the day.
  • Nursing Reception: The attending nurse will conduct a nursing reception that includes a brief questionnaire and vital signs measurement.
  • Blood Tests/Infusions: In the blood room, blood samples will be taken and infusions will be administered if necessary.
  • Treatment: The treatment will be given in the designated treatment area of the unit, either while seated on a chair or lying on a bed, as needed.
  • Doctor's Examination: After your blood test results are available, you will be scheduled for an examination with the treating doctor who will provide information about further treatment.
  • Waiting Area: Until the treatment is prepared or for a doctor's examination if needed, you can wait in the designated waiting area at the entrance of the unit.
  • Discharge: Upon discharge, you will receive a medical summary letter, including a summary of the treatment and recommendations for follow-up. Please do not leave before receiving the discharge letter and clearance (if applicable).
  • Follow-up Appointment: After the treatment, you should go to the secretary's desk to schedule the next treatment, additional tests, or follow-up appointments with the doctor in the outpatient clinic, as needed.
  • Food and Drink: Throughout the day, a coffee corner is available for your convenience. In the morning, a light meal will be provided, and if your stay continues into the afternoon, you will be served lunch.
