The Laboratories Division at Shaare Zedek performs tests in various medical fields, such as biochemistry, hematology, blood bank, endocrinology, microbiology, cell identification, male fertility, gastroenterology, immunology, and virology.
The laboratories are integral to the hospital's activity and assist the medical teams in their diagnoses, assessments, referrals and recommendations, as well as collaborating in clinical research. The laboratories for urgent tests operate 24/7, providing services throughout the day and night. Routine laboratories operate five mornings a week.
The laboratory staff is composed of skilled professionals who undergo periodic training and continuous education to stay updated with the latest professional knowledge and to develop new tests.
The laboratories, with their state-of-the-art automated equipment, operate according to guidelines and regulations set by the Ministry of Health. Daily quality controls and external assessments are performed to evaluate the laboratory's performance compared to other laboratories in Israel and worldwide. All laboratories hold ISO 9001-2015 certification and adhere to strict quality requirements in all areas.
