The laboratory works in close collaboration with the physicians of the Gastro Department, conducting tests that assist in diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, and disorders of the digestive system, as well as follow-up tests to track progress of treatment.
The laboratory operates according to ISO 9001 standards and undergoes annual accreditation by the Institute of Standards.
Tests performed in the laboratory
- Sweat Tests
- Breath tests for sugar intolerance, including -
1. Lactose intolerance: to identify intolerance to lactose found in dairy products and milk-based chocolate.
2. Fructose intolerance: to identify intolerance to fructose found in fruits, some vegetables, and sweetened foods.
3. Sorbitol intolerance: to identify intolerance to sorbitol, a natural sugar found in fruits and used as a sweetener in many dietary products.
4. SIBO (Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) breath test: Identifying an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine.
- Testing for vitamins A and E using HPLC.
- Testing for calprotectin in feces.
- Measuring metabolite levels of imuran and purinethol in blood TG6+MMP6.
