About

The laboratory performs a wide range of tests required for diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. Some of the tests are performed 24/7 (routine tests), while others (specialized tests) are performed less frequently.

Routine Tests

Blood count
Cell count in body fluids
Morphological examination of cells on a slide
Blood parasites (E.g., Malaria, Babesia)
Coagulation tests: PT, PTT, Fibrinogen, D-Dimer
Thrombin Time (TT), HIT (Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia)
Anticoagulant drug levels: Clexane, Arixtra, Xarelto*, Eliquis*,
Pradaxa. *- Levels are calculated.
Specialized tests requiring skilled techniques and special reagents are performed once every two weeks or upon the physician's request.

Special Tests

Hemoglobin Electrophoresis
Spherocytosis
Coagulation Tests
Lupus Anticoagulant (or Circulating Anti-Coagulant)
Hypercoagulability - Thrombophilia (APCR, AT, PC, PS)
Coagulation Factor Activities (VII, VIII, IX, XI, XII, II, V, X)
vWF (Antigen, Ristocetin Cofactor).

Academic Activity

The laboratory conducts research in the fields of hematology and coagulation, with the guidance of medical students from the Hebrew University for their final projects.
