High Risk Pregnancy Unit

The High Risk Pregnancy Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center treats women at all stages of “high risk pregnancy” – as defined owing to the state of the mother, the fetus or both. For example, women with high pregnancy blood pressure, those at risk of giving birth prematurely, and women coping with an eruption of or imbalance in an existing background condition such as heart disease, kidneys, inflammatory bowel disease or respiratory disease.

The Unit works in close cooperation with the Obstetrics Department, the Obstetrics Ultrasound Unit, the Medical Genetics Institute and the Obstetric Anesthesiology Unit. Our patients benefit from the advice and support of senior doctors – day and night – in all departments related to the particular condition or situation. Referral to the clinic is through your HMO (Kupat Cholim), or via the Obstetrics ER or Outpatients Clinics.
