Noga Clinic

The High-Risk Women's Clinic (Noga Clinic) is a multidisciplinary clinic established at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in September 2007. It was the first clinic of its kind in Israel and one of the first in the world. The clinic is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for women at high risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer due to carrying mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. This condition is particularly prevalent among Ashkenazi Jewish women in Israel, with approximately 1 in 40 women (2.5%) carrying these genetic mutations.

Diagnostic Services

The clinic offers the following tests,
For the initial meeting please bring the results of the genetic tests. These should include a specification of the identified mutation and a summation of the genetic counseling provided after the identification. If possible, please bring a payment guarantee from your HMO.

Breast imaging

including mammography, ultrasound and MRI, at the new Breast Imaging Institute (Mammography). In any case of a suspicious finding, a biopsy is done on the spot.

A breast exam by a breast surgeon or an expert of the Breast Imaging Institute.

Blood markers test (CA-125).

Ovarian ultrasound.

If needed, a multi-disciplinary consultation is offered, especially when a woman is facing a decision about preventative surgery.

Counseling about hormonal therapy

Those interested will be referred to pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) at the Zohar Laboratory at Shaare Zedek.
