Being diagnosed with breast cancer forces you and your family to face an unfamiliar challenge with emotional, familial, social and economic ramifications.
The Breast Health Unit at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, in partnership with the Israel Cancer Association, offers a comprehensive service for patients at all stages of breast cancer, under the supervision of a breast health nurse coordinating.
The nurse is here to serve the patient and her family throughout the journey - raising awareness to the importance of early detection, supporting during the different treatments, and accompanying the patient from the very beginning through the rehabilitation after treatment.
The patients also benefit from the services of a specially trained social worker. Through the nurse coordinator and the social worker, every woman receives personal attention and accompaniment and essential information for every stage of the decision making process. The social worker also provides information about the patient’s rights and guidance for parents ahead of discussions with their children.
