The department comprises a number of specialized units:
- The Spine Unit – treats spinal disorders, neck and back pains, and slipped disc issues. Also offers conservative treatment together with the Physiotherapy Institute, and works with pain specialists, alternative medicine and expert surgeons.
- The Pediatric Spine Service – works within the Children’s Hospital and deals with the range of problems affecting the spinal cord in children. Particular attention is given to various deformations of the spine.
- The Arthroscopy Unit – the first unit in Israel to perform partial knee joint replacement using arthroscopy. The unit – one of the most advanced of its kind – teaches doctors from all over the country.
- The Hand Surgery Unit – deals with a wide range of injuries and disorders in the upper limbs, ranging from wounds and amputations to diseases of the joints, congenital defects, and complex paralyses, such as CP and others. The unit works closely with the Hand Rehabilitation Institute, which provides physiotherapy and occupational therapy services.
