Clinical Research Unit

The Digestive Diseases Institute at Shaare Zedek Medical Center is a hub for clinical testing in the field in Israel. The Clinical Research Unit coordinates studies in two main areas – inflammatory bowel diseases and liver diseases.
The unit offers a range of options for treating Crohn’s Disease, Colitis and liver diseases while ensuring the close and strict monitoring of every patient.
All the traditional drugs treatments available today are first tested in a clinical testing process. Any new drug or new technique for administering a recognized drug are tested against recognized drugs and techniques. Tests are conducted under rigorous rules and regulations and results are reported to the health authorities in Europe and the US as well.
The patient is much more closely supervised in clinical tests than they are in regular treatment, and the results of treatment under clinical trial are often far better than the results of parallel treatments under ‘normal’ conditions.
