About

The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Institute at Shaare Zedek Medical Center is one of the two largest institutes in the country, encompassing several centers of excellence that treat a variety of gastrointestinal, liver, and heart diseases. The institute employs nine pediatric gastroenterologists, a dietitian, and a nurse, and it houses a large research unit.

In addition to common gastroenterological conditions such as recurrent abdominal pain, reflux, vomiting, and changes in bowel habits, the institute serves as a home for children and adolescents from all over the country who suffer from inflammatory bowel diseases, liver and heart diseases, celiac disease, nutritional issues, feeding disorders in infants, and food allergies. Each year, the institute's doctors treat over 6,000 children and perform more than 1,400 endoscopic procedures.
