History

Shaare Zedek Medical Center was established in 1902 by Dr. Moshe Wallach, a central figure in the history of medicine during the period of settlement. Wallach founded and managed the hospital for 45 years (1902-1947). Since its opening with 20 beds on Jaffa Street, Shaare Zedek has played a significant role in the city's development.
