Memberships

  • Member part of the team involved in developing the updated European guidelines for the management of myeloid leukemia in 2020, representing the ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology).
  • Member of the expert team responsible for drafting the most recent European guidelines in 2021, focusing on the interpretation of genetic laboratory findings and molecular monitoring following minimal residual disease. These guidelines were developed under the auspices of the ELN (European Leukemia Net).
  • Member of the steering committee responsible for the strategic planning and management of leukemia studies conducted by the American research group ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group).

  • Fellowship in the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Dana Vefarber Cancer Institute affiliated with Harvard University in Boston, USA

Research Areas and Articles

Under the guidance of Prof. Jerome Ritz from Harvard, he led a groundbreaking study that utilized computer technology to predict and identify specific targets that stimulate the immune system of patients following a bone marrow transplant. This study focused on leveraging the genetic variations between donors and patients.

He has an extensive publication record, with approximately 90 articles published in renowned scientific journals. Furthermore, he actively serves as an examiner for articles in leading journals within his field, contributing to the peer-review process.

In addition to his research contributions, he holds the position of director for a large international multicenter phase III study. The study aims to evaluate the potential FDA approval of an innovative treatment protocol, which he initiated and developed. This protocol focuses on Ph+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and involves a combination of targeted biological drugs and immune-activating agents, eliminating the use of chemotherapy entirely.

Awards

  • In 2011, he was awarded the "Morsha" scholarship for young research doctors on behalf of the National Science Foundation in Israel
